  NARRATIVE BLOG TASK: Read  Media Factsheet 14 - Telling Stories: The Media's Use of Narrative   and answer the following questions : Give an example from film or television that uses Todorov's narrative structure of equilibrium, disequilibrium and new equilibrium.  Wallace and Gromit in the curse of the were-rabbit (Parks and Box: 2005). This film starts of with an exposition by telling the audience a bit about the scene such as what is happening and where the scene is set. The plot story of the movie begins which is usually known as the problem/ disequilibrium . Which is when the home fills to the brim with rabbits. This film then turns out to be even more complicating as the problems seems to get worse even after trying to solve the problem as the beast further tries to attack the towns vegetables.  GENRE BLOG TASKS: TASK 1: GENRE FACTSHEETS                      Read  Media Fact sheet  03 - Genre: Categorising texts  and answer the following questions: What example is provided of why visual iconographies are so important? The example provided is someone sitting behind a desk is not genre specific and will not seem to be very important but if you add high key lighting and a screen behind the characters at the desk  and the combination of media language choices creates an image we associate with a news broadcast.  BLOG FEEDBACK AND LEARNING RESPONSE! WWW: I’m so impressed with the start you’ve made in Media – your blog is 100% up to date and your blogposts clearly show you are engaging with media terminology and theory. I particularly like your latest work on reading an image and reception theory where you offer detail and explanation in your answers and clearly understand Stuart Hall’s ideas. Keep up the good work!   EBI: I’d say the main feedback is something you are already developing – answering blog questions in depth and detail. Compare your answers to the ‘English’ questions in the Semiotics work to your latest blogs and you are already writing in more detail. If you keep this up along with your media consumption plans (particularly podcasts and Twitter) then you will be on the right track. LR: Create a blogpost on your Media 1 Exam blog called ‘Blog feedback and learner response’, copy this feedback in and then complete the following learner response. Answering blog questions in dept
